This is the painful moment a reveller's leg smashed into metal railings while she was riding a fairground swing.

Rumi Yeh, was with four other friends at the JETS Carnival Amusement Park in Kaohsiung, Taiwain, on a day trip, on December 24.

But while the swing carousel was spinning round, Rumi's leg clattered into the green bars, leaving her with a bruised and sprained ankle.

She said: "I have happy memories of this place from when I was a kid, so I'm really devastated that it happened to me.

''My legs were not straight or fully extended, they were just hanging naturally, so I don't know why this happened to me and nobody else.

"The chairs and safety buckles were all rusty. It even stained on my friend's white shirt. I wish we never went on there.''

Rumi's right leg was left bruised and scraped after it hit the metal rails on the edge of the swing. She was also not able to walk properly because of what happened.

The injured visitor was given first aid by the fairground staff before being taken to the hospital.

Although her foot swelled, her medical results showed that she did not have broken bones.

The incident was reported to the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau which said that they will do a re-evaluation of the security measures within the fairground.

Kaohsiung is a large port city in southern Taiwan and is known for having a variety of parks that are popular with tourists.
