Traditional bull-taming sport Jallikattu leaves 21 injured in southern India

Following the tradition of honoring the harvest season, the bull-taming sport of Jallikattu is organized in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, which leaves 21 injured.

The event happened at St Sebastian church of Dindigul on February 20.


Visuals show players trying to tame the bull by fiercely gripping onto the animal's horns and hump.


The audience lauds the player's spirit by cheering them which adds to the rousing atmosphere.


According to reports, around 580 bulls have participated in the event. More than 480 people have been trying to repress them.


People who successfully restrain the bull are gifted with gold and silver coins, and also a bicycle.

According to sources, 21 people have been minorly injured after the event.
