South African President Cyril Ramaphosa admitted the failings in the country's parole system on a visit to the family of the murdered eight-year-old girl Tazne van Wyk in Cape Town on Tuesday (February 25).

The case has become a national outrage in South Africa.

Ramaphosa visited the grieving family and spent a long time in a private meeting with the parents.

After a lengthy visit to the parents and family of murdered 8 year old Tazne van Wyk, President Cyril Ramaphosa said thet there was something wrong with the parole system in south africa.

The alleged murderer of the 8 year old girl, Mohinudeen Pangarker, has a lengthy list of crimes on his record, but he was granted parole and released back into the community.

It is alleged he kidnapped the little girl from a shop opposite her home and killed her soon after.

Her decomposed body was found in a stormwater drain almost 100 km from her home.

COmmunity members expressed their fear for having paroled individuals in their vicinity.
