Beautiful Sundogs & Ice Halo Over Snow In Sperrins! - Winter
Stunning scene today in the Sperrin mountains near Moneyneany area of N. Ireland on our best snow fall of winter to date. Beautiful snow, blue skies and great light, the strong upper level winds blew ice crystals (diamond dust) through the air which formed this amazing atmospheric optics display, with sun halo, two vivid sundogs and amazing parhelic arc going through the sundogs and all over snow, this is scene more typical from more northern latitudes. This my mate in the frame to help block out the glare of the sun.
