HMS Prince Of Wales cruises into Liverpool
On a very blustery day, with a string wind and high tide the £6billion mammoth aircraft carrier arrived in Liverpool. Some 13,000 free tickets were quickly snapped up by the public for a weekend onboard visits, during her week-long stay. The iconic maritime city is set to welcome the 65,000 ton carrier at the cruise ship berth on her first visit to the city. Crowds lined the waterfront despite the adverse weather to ensure her welcome - which included a 180 degree manoeuvre in the River Mersey - started well. She is set to leave next Friday.
