A snake catcher caught a huge python that was coiled in the roof of a family's home.

Kongkiet Ketnak, who is heard talking to the camera, climbed up the wall to bring the reptile down from the ceiling in Ang Thong, central Thailand, on February 26 morning.

The video shows Kongkiet grabbing the python from the under the roof and taking it down by letting it curl around his waist.

Kongkiet said the serpent might have been up there looking for food.

He said: "The snake seemed like it was there to eat birds. But it was not that fierce and we finally took it down. I am glad no one was attacked."

The snake measured 13ft long. Rescue workers released it back into the wild.
