WATCH: Two leopard cubs were rescued from a sugarcane field in thewest Indian state of Maharashtra.

The incident happened at Maval, Pune on March 03, 2020.

According to sources, a group of local farmers spotted two of the cubs lying in the middle of a sugarcane harvest.

The locals alerted the forest officials, following which they rushed to the spot to rescue the cubs.

"The leopard from the forest area could have delivered the cubs in the sugarcane field as it is a safe hideout for such wild animals," said one of the officials.

According to sources,  two cubs were rescued by the officials.
