City of Cape Town assist businesses in rebuilding after refugee occupation

After 5months of occupation by refugees, greenmarket square was echoing with the sounds of music as artists sang and spectators danced.

The precinct and the businesses in the immediate vicinity were hugely affected by refugees living in the sidewalks and open spaces for the last 5months.

On Sunday they were moved by the Law Enforcement acting on a court order from
The western cape high court.

Alderman JP Smith, the councillor responsible for safety and security says the central cape town area is the window to the rest of the Cape Town Tourism
Industry and it is vital that they assist in rebuilding it.
