A giant grouper fish was caught off the coast of Cat-iwing village in Southern Leyte, the Philippines on December 15. At least six fishermen had to carry the fish from the boat to the market where it will be sold. The fish is said to have weighed 150 kilos. Local Rose Marie Lambonao said that fishermen in their village catches all sorts of fish, including grouper fish, but it was the first time that they ever caught anything so big. She said: "Everyone in our village went to take a look at the giant fish. It's an unusual sight." The grouper fish, locally known as Lapu-Lapu, is a highly-esteemed food fish in the Philippines.
