Magazine seller leaves London Underground passengers bemused with coronavirus joke
This is the bizarre moment a Big Issue seller leaves London Underground commuters bemused with a joke about the coronavirus.
The man was seen on the Circle line to Hammersmith on March 9. He's heard blaming his soar throat on the COVID-19 virus before producing a bottle of Corona beer.
''You might notice I have a bad throat,'' he tells bemused commuters. ''This is a symptom of corona.''
''So you know my big issue, I'm going to sneeze, then you're all going to the pub and get yours, because I've got my bottle.''
The man then says the drink is ''very refreshing'', as some passengers laughed at his joke while others ignored him.
One passenger, Davina Barton, said: ''I encountered him twice in one day doing the same routine, no one laughed either time or bought a magazine.
''He’s now included an actual bottle of corona in his act but yet still business remains painful.''
Tube commuter Ian Smith said: ''I also had a live show of this the other day. Nobody was impressed then either.''
However, Lloyd Jesus, said it was amusing.
He said: ''What a miserable lot on that train.''
And Nadia CatrinIf added: ''If you do not find him funny then you're taking yourself way too seriously. It's great way to make money, he's going to sneeze if you don't buy the Big Issue.''
