The "sole-ful" scene is in Mehsana, India on Tuesday (March 10) as people celebrating the festival of colors, Holi, do so in the traditional way: by hurling shoes at one another.

Khasda Yuddh, or the shoe battle, is a tradition dating back150 years and it is believed that the people who get hit with these shoes will have good fortune for a year.

Recently, vegetables have replaced shoes.

Khasda Yuddh is a unique tradition of tossing shoes at each other during the celebration of Holi, the festival of colours in the north Indian state of Gujarat.



The incident took place at Visnagar of Mehsana district on March 10, 2020, at 9 AM.

The video shows the youths trying to climb each other and break a pot that is hung from a string above them.

People can be seen celebrating the occasion by hurling shoes, eggplants, tomatoes, and potatoes at each other instead of indulging in Holi colours.

According to the reports, Khasda Yuddh (Shoe Battle) is known for its tradition for the last 150 years and it is believed that the people who get hit with these shoes will have good fortune for a year.

People have stocked old shoes till this day to take part in this tradition.

However, traditions and customs are changing with time.

Shoes are being replaced with vegetables as the years pass by.
