With coronavirus leading to a steep fall in chicken prices over unfounded fears of transmission, a desperate poultry farmer buried alive a truckload of chickens on his farm in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.

The incident took place at Nulsoor in Belagavi’s Gokak taluk on March 9, 2020.

The video shows farmer emptying a truckload of nearly 6,000 chickens, all about a month old, into a large pit.
According to sources, several farmers were staring at huge losses after investing thousands of dollars as the demand has been plunging for a month following panic over Covid-19.
