Footage showing the effect of the huge tidal surge of 11 March 2020 on Milton Creek in Sittingbourne, Kent.

The tide was already predicted to be one of the highest of the year at 6.23m predicted at Sheerness - however due to the tidal surge - the tide went even higher with 6.64m recorded by the Sheerness tide gauge!

The extreme height of the tide flooded over Lloyds Wharf in Milton Creek, which is the home of 100 year old Thames sailing barge Raybel, which is currently undergoing restoration there. The adjacent Dolphin Sailing Barge Museum building had to be built up to accommodate these extreme tides.
