Leopard falls 40ft into farm well, pulled out to safety with the help of makeshift rope ladder in marathon operation that lasted for four hours in central India

Following a four-hour-long rescue operation, forest department officials rescued a leopard who fell into a well in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

This heart-wrenching incident took place at Pohri range of Shivpuri district on March 15, 2020.

According to reports, the leopard fell into the well in the morning.

Following this, it tried to escape but failed miserably.

The animal was spotted by the local people who came to its rescue.

Later they alerted the forest department officials who rushed to the spot at 12.30 PM.

Being an expert climber, a rope ladder was thrown at the leopard for it to climb out using it.

But after multiple attempts, the animal failed to climb out of the well.

Later, the forest officials released a cot tied to a rope into the well for the animal to climb onto it.

After a four-hour-long operation, the animal managed to climb onto the cot and was hauled out to safety.

The leopard ran into the forest as soon at is surfaced out of the well.
