Long queues for trains as 'social distancing' rules are enforced in Manila

Long queues of commuters in Manila, Philippines this morning (March 16) as trains were banned from taking anything more than 25 people per carriage to comply with coronavirus 'social distancing' rules.

The Metro Manila capital region of the country has been put under lock down to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 infection. Military checkpoints were also set up around Metro Manila to prevent people from leaving or entering unless necessary.

There have been 142 declared cases of coronavirus and 12 deaths in the Philippines since the outbreak began.
