Delray Beach, Flordia, remains crowded despite advice to self-isolate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The footage, filmed on March 19, shows Floridians sunbathing on the beach in close groups.

Florida has reported 432 COVID-19 cases with nine deaths caused by the virus.

Hmmmm.... I’m no expert, but this video I shot this afternoon in Delray Beach, Florida, doesn’t look like coronavirus social distancing to me.

In about 10 days, we’ll see the results, good or bad, of the St. Patrick’s Day gatherings. Experts studying China and Italy say locking down all but essential services is the only way to flatten the curve, and, in the case of hotspots, like Wuhan, shorten the duration to two months instead of the 18 US officials are now anticipating.

Boca Raton, Clearwater, Deerfield, Fort Lauderdale and many other Florida beaches are closed, but Gov. Ron DeSantis has yet to shut all Florida beaches. I hope to God Delray Beach and the other open beaches aren't tempting the powder keg with a match by not closing.

I have many elderly friends and some of all ages with health conditions that increase their vulnerability. A CDC study released today makes it clear young people are, in fact, at risk of winding up in the ICU. Understand, too, that these kids and snowbirds are returning to a city near you.
