Auto-rickshaw operators are disinfecting their vehicles across India to try to stem the outbreak of coronavirus.

This footage shows auto-rickshaws being sprayed with a disinfectant in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh on March 20th.

Autorickshaw operator union will now wipe down the vehicles with disinfectants, in response to the rapid coronavirus outbreak in India.

The incident took place at Solan in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh on March 20, 2020.

According to sources, the employees will be disinfecting all autorickshaws every day inside the stations.

The videos show the employees spraying the vehicles with disinfectants to remove traces of the virus.

Although the autorickshaw transport union did not get any help from the district administration and transport department did not get any support from the autorickshaw drivers, the employees have decided to run this campaign at their own expense till the threat of coronavirus is eradicated.

Coronavirus has infected more than 200,000 people and killed more than 11,417 across the world.

Total cases in India have risen to 271, as per the Union health ministry.
