While the coronavirus outbreak spreading and calls for social distance in Indonesia, thousands people from Asia held a meeting called 'Ijtima Ulama se-Asia" in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi.

Rudi Arnel, one of the participants from Agam, West Sumatra, video filmer said, gathering planned on 19 to 22 March 2020 with the number of participants who had been in the location of approximately 8,761 people, consisting of 8,283 Indonesian citizens (from various regions), and 478 foreign nationals from 9 countries.

Indonesian regions with local transmissions are Jakarta, Banten, West Java and Central Java.
