This is the dramatic moment a leopard is seen loitering inside Devendra Swaroop Brahmachari International School in Rishikesh, northern India.

According to local reports, security staff spotted the wild animal barging into campus in the early hours of Tuesday (March 24) and informed forest department officials.

The dramatic video shows rescue personnel trying to debate and catch the leopard, before it pounced on one man. The injured man is then seen bleeding from his head while walking out of the premises.

The injured rescue personnel was taken to AIIMS hospital for medical attention and the leopard was eventually taken to a rehabilitation facility.

According to the reports, the security staff spotted the beast barging into the campus early in the morning of March 24 and informed the forest department officials about the presence of the deadly intruder at Devendra Swaroop Brahmachari International School in Rishikesh. 

The video shows the leopard loitering in the school premises as the rescue personnel try to catch hold of the beast.

But before they could shoot a dart and sedate the beast, it pounced on one of its rescuers and gored him badly.

A forest guard bleeding from his head is seen walking out of the premises.

The leopard eventually captured and taken to a rehabilitation facility.

The injured forest official was taken to AIIMS hospital for medical attention.
