A heroic man in southwestern China jumped into a river to rescue a drowning boy.

The video, provided by local media and filmed in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province on March 21, shows a five-year-old boy riding a bike speeding into a wall on the side of the shore and dropping into the river.

Tourists spotted the boy and called for help. A bar owner heard it and ran out with a broom to try to let the boy grab it.

However, the stick on the broom was not long enough, so the man jumped into the water to save the drowning boy.

The boy was rescued within a minute and sent to hopsital to be checked out.

Fortunately, the boy was alright and went back home for observation.

3月21号中午，黔东南州镇远古城舞河边出现了惊险一幕，一名5岁儿童在巷道里骑自行车时，突然失去控制，连人带车冲入河中，情况十分危急。
监控显示，当天中午12时45分，一名儿童骑着自行车径直冲向河边护栏，并连人带车一起翻下水中。当时虽不时有行人路过，但都没发现落水儿童。直到一分多钟过去后，才有两位游客发现了险情并大声呼救。
河边音乐酒吧的老板徐晶在听到呼救声后，立即找来一根竹竿跑向河边，试图让孩子抓住，无奈竹竿长度不够。情急之下，徐晶摘掉眼镜就跳入水中施救，不到一分钟，徐晶就将孩子救至岸边。
随即，孩子被亲人送往医院检查，所幸由于救助及时，孩子除轻度呛水外并无大碍，目前在家休息观察。
