Indian police force curfew breakers to KNEEL in front of them
Indian police rounded up men who had violated a lockdown aimed at curbing the coronavirus pandemic and handed out a novel punishment to them: forcing them to kneel.
Video filmed by an officer on Wednesday and shared with permission by Krishnarajanagara Police Department shows the men kneeling and raising their arms. They were made to do this for nearly 30 minutes.
In a few other places also police caught men on the streets and made them do 100 sit ups.
This incident took place at Lalanahalli village near Krishnarajanagara in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.
India has announced a 21-day lockdown and urged people to stay indoors.
