Police sent a stern message to worshippers who gathered at two mosques to pray despite a countrywide lockdown in the wake of Corona scare.

Police in Gokak in South India received information that more than 60 worshippers had gathered at two mosques to perform afternoon prayers.

An officer said: “A small team went to the Nadafgalli and Kabarstan mosques, and dispersed the worshippers using mild force. Children and the elderly were spared.”

Several community organisations have appealed to Muslims to pray at home and not gather at mosques to check the spread of Corona.
