Zagreb is remedying damages from the earthquake amid coronavirus lockdown

Workmen continue clearing Central Zagreb buildings' roofs and facades of dangerous debris, left by the strongest earthquakes to hit Croatian capital for the last 140 years.

Zagreb Police Department confirmed a workman plunged 12m to his death this morning, after falling from a building roof while working to repair earthquake damage.

The earthquakes of 5.3 and 5.1 on the Richter scale hit Croatian capital early on Sunday morning, 22 March 2020, leaving 17 people seriously injured and one dead.
The hardest hit was the old town, where one in 8 buildings examined by structural engineers have been found not fit to live in.
