For my 9th #BrightenYourDay video, let me take you back to 2009, the UN Year of the Gorilla. That summer, I travelled across Africa from Uganda to Nigeria with the intention of interviewing 10 people from poachers to presidents in each of the 10 gorilla range states - 10 countries, 100 interviews, 5 weeks (with zero funding!). It didn't quite work out like that - as you can find out in a documentary called 'State of the Gorilla Journey' produced by Ape Alliance Volunteers (watch it on www.Ecostreamz.com) - but I did meet some extraordinary people and encounter some amazing life-forms, such as this stunningly beautiful Rhinoceros viper. An ambush hunter, she was coiled beside the trail in Lopé National Park, #Gabon and allowed me to film her before slowly slipping away into the dense vegetation of the #rainforest. Just delight in the pattern and detail of each keeled scale!
