Migrants workers caught in van while fleeing to their villages amid COVID-19 in Mumbai.

A tempo was intercepted by andheri police in Mumbai,western express highway at andheri area on Sunday. Total 17 migrant labourers were found in the tempo.All were working in the shops area located in Sakinaka, Marol and Powai in Mumbai India. In the wake of Coronavirus, all informed that they were heading in their hometown in Uttar Pradesh as there was no employment. Also, the driver of the tempo promised to leave them near Virar after that they can take other vehicles to travel to their respective village which is Uttar Pradesh India.

After the interrogation, all were taken into custody. Tempo has been seized and brought to the police station.

All labourers were sent to their respective homes after being questions at the police station. Police also informed to the BMC and managed their meals and other arrangements required.

However, Mumbai Police has registered a case against the Driver ajay kumar. A case registered u/s Maharashtra Prevention of Disease Control Act 1897, ipc Section 2,3 of the National Disaster Management Act, 2005 along with section 51 (b) of the Motor Vehicles Act Section 66 has been registered under section 192.
