Tropical storm causes flooding in Laos
Footage shows how heavy rain and strong winds caused floods in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, last Tuesday evening (March 24) . Tropical downpours battered the city causing ankle-deep water on roads and locals driving home had to plough through the deluge.
Some vehicles were seen stuck in traffic even though the water level reached half of their wheels while some caused big waves to bounce off houses and shops nearby. The road drains were also blocked with dirt and some garbage which caused the water to drain off slower.
One resident said: ''The roads were like rivers and the cars were like fish trying to get through the water.''
