Amid the nationwide lockdown, the employees of the electric company reached out to the daily wage workers stranded without daily commodities and living in tarpaulin tents in the western Indian state of Gujarat.

The incident took place in Kodinar of Somnath district on March 31, 2020.

The video shows the employees distributing food packages to the poor and the needy families gathered outside the tents.

According to the reports, the food supplies given to the families contain food grains and pulses.

One such package is enough to last eight to ten days for each family.

One of the employees stated that the 21-day-long national wide lockdown has left many daily wage workers starving, who depend on their everyday wages for next day's living.

Several families are left stranded with no accommodation or essentials required for their survival amid the lockdown.

All the employees have decided to help the needy and took the initiative.

Many such good samaritans are reaching out to the poor amid the lockdown to offer help and respite.
