Amid the nationwide lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, a group of more than 150 people from Gujarat’s transgender community has done an incredible job by helping out the needy.

The incident took place at the Navsari district of Gujarat on March 30, 2020.

The video shows, members of the transgender community are providing free food packages to the needy and those residing in slums.

The food packets which were given include rice, flour, oil, tea leaves, sugar, and other essential items.

The members took a van to carry all the food packets and went to every house to give the packets.

Along with the food packets, an amount of money was provided to all the people in the slums to buy the necessary commodities.

A member of the community said “We had started with 200 kits but now it has gone up to around 1500. We prepare it ourselves for distribution”.

Devotees at Gurudwara Gobind Dham in Ahmedabad are also busy making food packets for the needy amid lockdown due to coronavirus.
