Street food vendor plays badminton on once-busy China Town in Bangkok
Video shows how the Covid-19 outbreak has turned the China Town area of Bangkok into a deserted road - with locals even able to play badminton on it.
Food street vendor Phonpawit took clip of his brother Muen playing badminton on the empty street, which is normally crammed with cars, tuk tuks and thousands of tourist every night. They recorded in on March 26 shortly after the city's shopping malls, restaurants and dozens of other non-essential businesses were forced to close on March 22.
Muen said he had never seen the road as empty as this before. He said: "We have had hardly any customers since the coronavirus pandemic started.
"We still have a few online orders but the road is very quiet.''
China Town, located on Yaowarat street, is one of the largest China Towns in the world.
The street has been listed in the Bangkok's main commercial hub throughout the late 19th to early 20th centuries and tens of thousands of tourists normally visit each day.
