Coronavirus cases have reached 100 in Suffolk and more than 1339 cases across the east of England with numbers set to rise.

West Suffolk Hospital is currently treating 10 patients with confirmed coronavirus. Two deaths of patients with coronavirus were confirmed by the hospital on 01/04/20. The patients who passed away were in their 80s and 90s with under lying health conditions.

Across the country hospitals are gearing up for what is likely to be a significant spike in coronavirus cases in the coming weeks.
The government has come under sharp criticism for its lack of testing NHS key workers and an inadequate supply of ppe (personal protective equipment) for front line hospital workers.
