Thirsty cow plunges 15-metres into well, rescued safely by firefighters in southern India
Alerted by locals, officials in southern India's Tamil Nadu rescued a cow that plunged 50 ft (15 metres) into a well.
The incident took place on April 7 in Omalur in Salem district.
Visuals show the distressed cow inside the well as rescuers tie the harness around the bovine's body to pull it up.
Once the harness is tied properly, rescuers pull out the bovine and later untie the ropes.
According to reports, the operation was carried out by local firefighters.
The cow, which is believed to have ventured near the well in search of water, slipped and fell inside the facility.
