As the spread of COVID-19 is increasing every day, people are taking different forms of precautions to prevent themselves from contracting the disease. Police personnel in northern India's Uttar Pradesh came up with a unique idea to shave off their head to fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The incident took place in the town of Fatehpur Sikri of Agra district on April 5, 2020.

Visuals show the Station House Officer of Fatehpur Sikri, along with 75 other police personnel, walking through the streets of Fatehpur Sikri.

The policemen took part in the exercise in order to spread the message that body hair, especially those on the head, could trap the novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, locals were surprised to witness the unusual sight while staying indoors.

One of the officer said, "We saw many people covering the head with masks along with the face. The doctor said that the coronavirus may also stick in the hairs of the head. Through breathing the virus can go inside our body, so we decided to shave our head."

All the cops of the police station agreed to shave their head to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection.

Social distancing was taken care of during the procedure.
