A small snake that was trapped inside a motorcycle belonging to a policeman, was rescued by cops in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place near the old bus stand area in Pudukkottai district on April 6.

The video shows a mechanic removing several parts from the motorcycle to facilitate the rescue.

Sensing an opening, the snake leaps out from the vehicle, giving a scare to several policemen present at the scene.

However, a policeman manages to trap it using a stick and later picks it up by holding its head.

According to the reports, on noticing the snake getting inside the bike the cop, who had been patrolling the streets amid the ongoing 21-day lockdown in the country, had called the mechanic.

The snake was rescued and released into a nearby forest.
