As a note of appreciation for the hardships sanitation workers endure in keeping the environment clean, residents of a village in northern India's Uttarakhand state showered them with flowers.

The incident took place in Bahadrabad village in Haridwar district on April 8.

Villagers showered petals, offered garlands of flower and currency notes and also put a turban on the head of each worker for their duties during the coronavirus pandemic, which has forced people to stay indoors.

Visuals show the sanitation workers taking a tour of the area as residents shower flowers from the balconies and terrace of their homes.
