They treat us like animals!! - homeless people claim ill-treatment at City's Covid 19 facility.
During a media tour of the homeless camp in Strandfontein, where homeless people are being held during the national lockdown, some homeless people claimed they were being ill-treated within the facility.
One homeless man claimed he was being treated like an animal. A lady claimed she was loaded into a police van without any belongings and was wearing the same clothes since Sunday. A second homeless lady said officers at the facility had used pepper spray on them.
The facility has received much media attention as allegations of what is happening at the camp circulates on social media.
