A heartwarming news has emerged from the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, where a female leopard strayed into an abandoned house and gave birth to three cubs.

The incident took place on April 13 in Tantol village of Rajasmand district.

Visual shows the mother leopard entering the house and picking up one of its newborns using its mouth.

According to forest department officials, the big cat picked up two of her babies while leaving behind the third.

The abandoned cub is being taken care of by officials, who are feeding it a mixture of goat milk and lukewarm water.

The officials are hoping for the mother to come back and take the baby along with it.

Leopards tend to leave their newborns at the place of birth at times and can take up to a week's time to come back in search of the cub.

The incident, which took place amid the lockdown, imposed by the government to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, has uplifted the spirits of forest department workers in Rajasthan.
