Dozens of fish stuck in a drought-ravaged canal were rescued in Thailand.

One of the rescuers, identified as Top, said he first noticed the fishing net in the dry canal with the fishes stuck while they were giving away free masks to residents in Bangkok.

He then asked his friends Tide and Anyawut to help him take the fish out, in case they were still alive.

In the video, they are trying to take the weak fishes out of the dirty net, surrounded by discarded materials in the neglected waterway.

There were five fish trapped in the fishing net, but they could save only two of them as the three were already dead. They let the ones that survive into the water.

Footage was taken by their other friend Anyawut in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 7.

Anyawut said: ''Every life is important, so we should try our best to save them.''
