A strong blizzard hit northern China, burying vehicles and blocking residential houses on April 20.

The video, shot in the city of Qiqihar in Heilongjiang Province, shows vehicles being trapped on the snow and ice covering roads and a group of people managing to push a bus forward.

Two men struggled to walk as the snow came up to their waist.

A man was sweeping away the snow that piled up in front of his house and blocked his door.

Another man was seen using his hand to attempt to dig his car out of the snow. However, he was heard saying "this is not my car" after seeing the rearview mirror.

The local meteorological observatory has issued a red warning signal (the strongest one) for the blizzard at 17:25 on April 20.

According to local reports, it was the biggest blizzard in 37 years.

4月20日至21日，黑龙江齐齐哈尔突降罕见大雪，有车辆被埋在大雪中，市民在雪中挖车。有市民表示“二三十年没见过这么大雪”。齐齐哈尔气象台4月20日17时25分曾发布暴雪红色预警信号。
据当地气象局消息，此次暴雪是37年来最大的一次，降雪量达到30毫米以上，同时伴有5至6级大风，部分路段出现雪阻现象。气象局呼吁当地公众需积极做好各项防护措施，注意防范强降雪和积雪对于交通出行的不利影响。
降雪后，公安厅交管局指挥中心组织全省各地迅速启动应急预案，对不具备通行条件的高速公路采取管制措施，对出现拥堵路段开展交通疏导、事故预防、雪阻救援等工作，推动各项应急措施的有序开展。
