Residents of Indian housing society cheer on essential workers during coronavirus lockdown

A society in Rajkot still follows the ritual everyday to greet frontline workers for their impeccable job in tackling the deadly COVID-19. Although the Indian Premier Narendra Modi had called the entire nation to blow conch shells, ring bells and bang utensils to appreciate the NHS and other frontline workers on March 22nd, the residents of the Silver Avenue Society in Gujarat has been following it religiously every day till date to greet them when they return from work.
The people come out at 5 PM every day and greet the doctors and related frontline warriors who return home from their duties.
One of the residents said, 'The frontline warriors are the reason we all are safe inside our houses. This gesture goes out for every Policemen, Doctors, Nurses, Sanitation workers and Grocery or Medicine store owners to keep their spirits high amidst this serious crisis.'
