The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), West Sumatra Province, provides education to all health care workers in dealing with coronavirus patients to understand the proper procedures for using personal protective equipment on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in the city of Padang.

Jasmarizal, Deputy Chair of Disaster Management and Logistics at West Sumatra Province, Jasmarizal, explained that personal protective equipment is one of the tools for self-protection of health workers in protecting themselves and others to avoid coronavirus while serving in hospitals.

"The importance of understanding health workers in using proper personal protective equipment while in charge of spraying disinfectants, as well as delivering bodies, is able to protect themselves from the spread of threatening viruses," he said.

Jasmarizal said, if you experience errors in the use of personal protective equipment, will endanger yourself, and be able to impact irritation after spraying which is currently applied in the prevention of Covid-19, because it is very likely to be affected.

"After being educated to PMI officers and volunteers, it is hoped that in the future they will be able to take better care of themselves and those around them who will be affected," he said.
