A brave woman used her bare hands to rescue a snake that has wandered inside their neighbourhood.

Britany Dufresne, 26, and her boyfriend Joshua Daigle, 32, were told by neighbours that a snake had been spotted near houses near the pond in their village in Denham Springs, Louisiana on April 19.

Joshua said that his girlfriend had experiences with snakes before so they went to the pond and found the diamondback water snake in the bushes.

He said: "She has a huge passion for reptiles. She is the brave one so I just assisted her while she rescued the snake."

Diamondback water snakes are nonvenomous, and endemic to some parts of the United States and Mexico.
