Elephants enjoy cooling showers as temperatures hit 36C in Thailand.

The giant creatures were seen waiting in queues for their turn to enter the massive shower zone in Maesa Elephant Camp, Chiang Mai province on April 23rd.

All 78 jumbos normally take a shower two or three times a day, but due to the hot weather, that's been upped to four times per day.

Maesa elephant camp is a popular tourist destination where visitors can get up close to the animals but it is currently closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They hope to resume their operations when the situation has improved and tourists can return to the country.

Elephants that are out of work because of the coronavirus enjoyed cooling off with showers as temperatures reached 36C in Thailand.

The happy jumbos are waiting in queues for their turn to have the refreshing bath by mahouts in their big shower zone in Maesa Elephant Camp, Chiang Mai province on April 23.

All 78 jumbos take a shower two or three times a day, but due to the hot temperatures brought on by the start of summer, they have to do it more than four times a day.

The giant elephants are seen in the video standing under a huge and powerful shower, while some lie down and as they are washed.

Maesa elephant camp is temporary closed during the Covid-19 pandemic. They hope to resume their operations when the situation has improved and tourists can return to the country.

Currently all of Thailand's elephant camps are closed in order to comply with travel and social distancing restrictions enforced by a Government Emergency Act to stop the spread of the pandemic.
