Footage shows a busy backstreet on Bangkok as residents slowly return to normal as coronavirus cases in the country begin to fall.

Dozens of people, many without face masks, were buying food and visiting street stalls and shop in the Huai Khwang area of the Thai capital.

The country has been under strict travel restrictions and a 10pm curfew since last month when the Covid-19 pandemic exploded around the world.

However, ministers expect different provinces of Thailand to slowly re-open once the regions have achieved zero coronavirus cases.

Since the outbreak escalated in January and recording began, Thailand has reported a total of 2,907 cases and 51 deaths, while 2,547 patients have recovered and gone home.

Inbound passenger flights were temporarily banned and all non-residents were stopped from entering the country while all non-essential businesses were forced to close.
