Forest rangers in the northeastern state of Sikkim rescued a rock python after it strayed into a locality and swallowed a palm civet.

The incident took place in Jorethang town of South Sikkim district on April 26.

Visuals showed rescuers untying the top of a sack.

Much to their surprise, the civet came out, followed by the python.

According to reports, the python had regurgitated the civet inside the sack.

Snakes are known to regurgitate their meals when they are threatened.

The snake was released in its natural habitat.
