A man, who was caught driving his luxury sports car without wearing a mask- amid the novel coronavirus lockdown- was made to do sit-ups by civic volunteers in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

The incident took place in the city of Indore on April 25.

According to reports, the man was out on the roads in his open roof convertible two-seater yellow Porsche to buy food.

Video shows a stick-wielding volunteer stopping the car and asking the man to step outside.

As the man proceeds to show him some documents, the guard refuses to listen and orders the man to do sit-ups.

When quizzed about his mask, the man says he was carrying it but did not wear it.

Meanwhile, the man alleged police foul play and said he was harassed despite carrying a valid curfew travel pass, one that is required to commute during the ongoing nationwide lockdown.

Indian police are pulling out all the stops to emphasize the importance of staying home to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
