Indian man does Sikh martial arts as street claps to support NHS coronavirus struggle

An Indian man impressed his neighbours by performing a Sikh martial art during an evening clap for NHS staff.

Perbinder Singh Sohal, 52, showed off his uniqiue way of honouring health care workers by spinning a weapon in the street in the Park Hall are of Walsall, West Midlands on April 23.

In the video, the secondary school teacher holds his bamboo stick while performing Sikh stick-fighting routine known as Gatka.

His son Bhaghatheev, who took the video, said: "Every week we clap for the NHS workers every 8 p.m. in our street."

Bhaghatheev said that all of them in their street agreed that they have to do something every week until they get through the pandemic.

He said: "Last week out neighbours sang a song. We do these things to survive as a community while practising social distancing."
