2 CRESCENTS IN THE EVENING SKY - MOON AND VENUS

Buy video

Right now the Moon is obvious in the evening sky as a crescent shape, with all the amazing craters. But did you know there's another bright crescent shaped object in the evening sky ? Look lower to the western horizon, that very bright "evening star" , in fact planet Venus, is also shaped as a crescent, if you look at it with a telescope or strong binoculars. In the next few weeks Venus will get closer towards Earth and the crescent will get more and more narrow . By late May Venus will be too close to the Sun to see . On June 3rd Venus will be in close inferior conjunction. And soon later she will appear in the early morning sky before sunrise.
