Thousands of South Africans left their homes yesterday at 06h00 to take advantage of the easing in the lockdown rules as south africa battles the spread of covid19.

Under the level 4 lockdown rules more business sectors are allowed to trade and citizens can leave their homes and take a walk or jog within a five kilometre radius of their home.

this led to thousands of people heading to open spaces and streets to get out of their homes for exercise in 35 days since the lockdown was implemented.

The picturesque sea point promenade along the Atlantic seaboard was filled with families as they took advantage of the ease in the lockdown.

Despite the continued threat of infection social distancing was absent and many people were not wearing any masks or protective wear.
