House sparrow plucks feathers from the headless corpse of a pigeon

Buy video

A male House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) looks to have found the ideal nesting material as it plucks feathers from the corpse of a dead pigeon. The scene may be grim but it's also fascinating to watch the Sparrow at work and I can only guess that the pigeon was an unlucky victim of the local Sparrowhawk. Circle of life is complete now as the Sparrow lines its own nest with pigeon feathers.
