As soon as curfew rules for liquor stores were relaxed- allowing shops to operate for a definite time span in a day- tipplers braved hailstorm while waiting in long queues outside a facility in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand.

The incident took place on Mall Road in Tallital area on May 5.

The liquor shop did not open on Monday in Nainital because the goods were not transferred to the shops.

The incessant rain and hailstorms could not reduce the spirits of the consumers, all of them eagerly waited for their chance.

Hundreds of people queued up from morning outside the liquor shop, carrying an umbrella and wearing raincoats due to the heavy rain and hailstorm.

Visuals showed people lining up outside a liquor store in a marked distance from each other.

Customers were asked to maintain physical distances while waiting in line.

All the people were drenched in rain but waited outside the shop until they got the chance to buy liquor from the shop.

The liquor stores have been closed since March 22, following the Janata Curfew and later the nationwide lockdown on March 23.

The restrictions will remain in force till May 17.
